CANCELLATION POLICY:

Online bookings: All bookings through an agent such as Booking.com, Expedia, etc. are all pre-paid and are non-refundable/changeable. Out of courtesy we may offer a re-booking during the months October - April excluding Christmas and Easter OR a 50% refund if we sell your room (only after selling any OF our unsold rooms first). Breakfast booked online is non refundable.

Direct bookings: Direct bookings are subject to a minimum 50% non refundable deposit and the balance is to be paid 7 days prior to check in. Once the balance is paid it is non refundable. Out of courtesy we may offer a re-booking during the months October - April excluding Christmas and Easter OR a 50% refund if we sell your room (only after selling any OF our unsold rooms first). Breakfast can only be refunded if cancelled 24 hours in advance.

No Shows: No shows are non-refundable. No show rooms are offered for sale for the 2nd and subsequent nights booked if we have not been contacted by the guest to arrange a later check in day. If sold we will refund the customer 50% of what the rooms were sold for

Pets: bookings for pets are non-refundable even if the guest has not brought the pet with them.

Membership

To our regular loyal guests we do offer a loyalty scheme in which a guest can receive discounts throughout the hotel.

How it works:

Regular repeat customers who stay with us three times a year or more can get a membership card which can save them up to 30% on rooms, food and drinks.

Cautionary note

Please note the location of our hotels is in the heart of the Harbor and therefore it is suited for people who want to be in the middle of a fully functional and working fishing harbor, with resident seagulls, and all the pubs & restaurants surrounding us. People seeking tranquility or quiet resting place would be advised to use an out of town hotel.

Where to sit

The Royal Britannia has two bars and a large terrace backing onto Ilfracombe harbour. We serve drinks all day and all year round, our food times vary depending on the time of the year with breakfast, lunch and dinner available. The lounge bar which can be found at the front entrance of the building is available to over 18's only for a more peaceful quiet place to enjoy a drink, will do NOT allow dogs in this bar. In our harbour bar we do however allow dogs and under 18's, here you can find a pool table #

Sports

We have a full Sky and BT sports package allowing us to show all the live games across 4 screens. So if you want to watch the football, Formula 1, Boxing etc please come down and enjoy food and drink whilst cheering on your team!

Small Double en-suite room rates start at £50 per night and our Deluxe harbour view with four poster bed room is only £125 per night, these price do vary depending on the time of the year. Please go to our booking engine to get up to date prices and availability.

The Royal Britannia

The Royal Britannia Hotel, Ilfracombe, North Devon, has undergone complete refurbishment in 2009-2011 and is now ready for relaxing.

The Royal Britannia has 19 en-suite rooms with some of them overlooking the Harbour and the picturesque quay, with its quaint gift shops and restaurants making it the ideal place to stay

PLEASE NOTE WE HAVE WHEEL-CHAIR ACCESS TO OUR BARS AND RESTAURANTS HOWEVER WE DO NOT HAVE WHEEL-CHAIR ACCESS TO ANY OF OUR GUEST ROOMS.

All rooms are available as Room only, or if you prefer Bed and Breakfast this can be incorporated into the price.

For families we offer sleeping accommodation for 3, 4, 5, 6 adults at competitive prices. Relax and watch the Harbour from our Sea-view rooms. Bedding and towels are provided for your accommodation. There are complimentary tea and coffee making facilities in all of our rooms.

The Grand Harbour

The Grand harbour is our newly renovated sister hotel is essentially an annex of The Royal Britannia, after couple of years of renovations and refurbishments we opened in the spring of 2021.

The Grand harbour has 22 en suite rooms across 3 floors which all have access via a lift making the journey with heavy cases a lot easier compared to the Royal Britannia and also much better for guests that struggle to walk. Please note that some floors do have 2 or 3 steps in places. All rooms are fitted with smart tvs and access to wifi. This hotel does NOT allow dogs
